About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for new employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's task is to enforce the penalties imposed by the courts through probation and prisons, operate remand prisons, perform transports, and conduct person investigations in criminal cases.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is now looking for an expert for the Planning Unit for Prisons, Remand Prisons, and Probation, located at the Planning Section for Prisons and Remand Prisons. Under the department, the agency's entire network of prisons, remand prisons, and probation offices is also organized.
The Planning Unit is responsible for developing and ensuring national leadership and management of operations at prisons, remand prisons, and probation within the framework of the agency's control and follow-up model and the department's mandate. The unit drives, develops, and coordinates forums internally and externally so that the department can achieve its goals. Furthermore, it includes responsibility for developing, managing, and analyzing the effects of quality management structures and quality work. The unit is also responsible for internal coordination within the department and between departments at the headquarters.
Job Description

To some extent, you may also be involved in issues concerning other areas of responsibility for the section and the department. The work requires the ability to maintain a high strategic focus. In line with changes within and outside the department, you will contribute to identifying and analyzing issues of strategic importance for a well-functioning operation at prisons and remand prisons. The tasks involve a high degree of independent work, including planning, quality assurance, and follow-up, as well as preparing reports for decision-making support and handling official consultations.
Furthermore, you will serve as a resource for the Section Manager in driving and supporting work on national assignments that develop prisons and remand prisons in line with the agency's long-term priorities, as well as the development and standardization of the agency's working methods and processes.
National travel is involved.
