SJ Stockholmståg is on an exciting journey with our vital societal mission, operating in a complex environment. We are now looking for a Labor Law Jurist, who will be our main representative in all matters concerning collective bargaining and collective agreements. This role is a key part of our HR team, which works closely with the operations.

About the role

As a Labor Law Jurist at SJ Stockholmståg, you will play a key role in building trust-based collaborations and long-term relationships, both with the operations and with our union partners.

At SJ, collaboration and responsibility are a natural part of everyday life. You will become a crucial support to the HR function and management, as well as the operations' leading voice in the dialogue with union representatives and our employer organization.

In this role, you will be a key enabler in our continued development. You will contribute to creating structure and security during change, ensuring that labor law, collective agreements, and working environment issues are natural and integrated parts of the operations. With an approach characterized by care, professionalism, and long-term thinking, you will help build a stable foundation where both people and the business can develop together.

  • Lead and develop negotiations with local union representatives within SJ Stockholmståg – focusing on dialogue, trust, and joint solutions.
  • Serve as the contact point for the employer organization.
  • Responsible for the application and development of relevant collective agreements – balancing the company's goals with employee conditions.
  • Participate in working environment work together with the Working Environment Specialist, HR Business Partners, managers, safety representatives, and trade unions – where safety, health, and sustainability are central.
  • Provide qualified and secure support to HR staff and operations managers on labor law matters – from major change initiatives to individual cases.
  • Support and coach HR Business Partners and managers in negotiations, labor law, collective agreement interpretation, and complex individual cases – focusing on strengthening competence and independence.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with union partners – where trust, respect, and collaboration contribute to our joint success.
  • Monitor the external environment and translate developments in Swedish labor law into practical, operation-oriented methods that create long-term value.

Expectations of the candidate

To succeed in this role, we believe you are an independent team player who is solution-oriented. You enjoy working operationally and close to the business. You have the ability to build relationships and are a skilled communicator in both speech and writing.

We believe you:

  • Have a relevant legal degree.
  • Have extensive experience as a labor law jurist.
  • Have experience with collective agreement-based shift work.
  • Have experience with operations involving different unions.
  • Are confident in managing complex operations, preferably with public ownership or regulated markets.
  • Want to contribute to one of Sweden's most important missions: getting more people to choose the train.

What do you get?

Aside from great colleagues and a job where you actually make a difference every day, you will get:

  • Flexible work with an office in newly renovated premises at Stockholm Central Station.
  • The opportunity to influence how future public transport works – for real.
  • Exciting challenges in a complex operation.

Application and information

Please submit your application today. Applications will be received throughout the summer, but the actual selection process begins according to schedule in August.

As part of the process, we will conduct a background check. We are a drug- and alcohol-free workplace where random checks are conducted.
