to apply for the job
Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) makes 21 million decisions that impact people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion SEK annually. These are taxpayers' money we handle, which is a significant responsibility. Therefore, we delve into every case, adhere to laws and regulations, inform and guide, care, and show consideration. This is a job for you if you want to take responsibility. Welcome to Försäkringskassan.
The supervision function provides Försäkringskassan and its management with operational knowledge about how different parts of the agency function in practice, why they function as they do, and what opportunities exist to strengthen the operations. The role of Supervision Manager offers a unique opportunity to create a holistic view of Försäkringskassan's operations and contribute to the development of one of Sweden's most important societal functions.
Why should you apply for this role?
You will work close to the operations, meet managers and employees from across the agency, lead qualified dialogues, and contribute with materials that strengthen the agency's governance, learning, and development. You will also act based on the supervision function's approach, which includes respect for the operation's conditions and challenges, a focus on collaboration and learning rather than focusing on individual deficiencies and control, i.e., proactivity and forward-looking – not reactive. The role combines qualified analysis, dialogue leadership, communication, and operational development.
The supervision function complements the agency's other follow-up and control functions through a forward-looking, learning-oriented, and operationally close working method. Together with employees and managers, key factors are identified to strengthen the agency's ability to implement and develop operations.
We are now looking for one, possibly several, Supervision Managers for the function. You have a genuine interest and commitment to Försäkringskassan, social insurance, and Försäkringskassan's mission. You share the supervision function's approach and contribute to a positive, non-hierarchical, and developmental work climate.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As a Supervision Manager, you are responsible for leading and/or conducting supervision activities in Försäkringskassan's operations in collaboration with your team colleagues and participants from the operations. You act based on the public sector values and the supervision function's approach. The supervision function systematically applies the same approach in all supervision activities conducted. The method enables the supervision to systematically address the purpose, working method, and level of ambition of the supervision.
Work Tasks
- Plan together with the relevant operation and conduct supervision activities from start to finish.
- Gather knowledge through the creation and distribution of questionnaires.
- Conduct and lead dialogues with managers and employees in various parts of the agency.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
- Coordinate and compile observations, their connections, and keys to handle improvement needs, conclusions, and situation reports.
- Present the situation report's results and keys to managers and leadership.
- Contribute to the development of the supervision function's working methods and approaches.
We believe you are a person who is curious about how operations function, has high integrity, can build trust in interactions with others, and enjoys analyzing complex issues. You can ask challenging questions with respect and have the ability to turn observations into learning and development.
We are looking for you who
- have a university degree or experiences/qualifications that can be assessed as equivalent
- have the ability to both lead and participate in various team constellations with a clear sense of direction regarding the purpose and goals of the supervision activity
- have very good collaboration skills and can create and maintain good relationships
- can contribute constructively to teamwork through a holistic perspective, mutual learning, support, and encouragement
- have good communication skills, both written and oral, which can be applied in a pedagogical, target-group adapted manner
- have good analytical skills and sound judgment
- are result-oriented and can proactively take initiative and responsibility
- are quality-conscious, meticulous, and work in a structured manner
- have the ability to both adopt a strategic perspective and translate it into action.
It is meritorious if you
- have experience of project/task leadership
- have managerial/leadership experience
- have experience of similar assignments
- have experience of operational development
- have good insight into Försäkringskassan's operations, governance, and the role of a civil servant.
We place great importance on your personal qualities.
