Job Description
Do you have a strong ability to understand and develop complex technical systems? Are you accustomed to working with requirements throughout the entire lifecycle – from need to verified solution? Do you want to continue developing within the defense sector in an environment where your skills truly make a difference?
We are now seeking Systems Engineering Managers and Systems Engineers who wish to contribute to creating robust, secure, and future-proof system solutions within the defense sector.
The defense sector is growing rapidly – and we want to grow together with you, who have the competence, independence, and drive to take responsibility in complex assignments.
Qualifications
As a Systems Engineering Manager
You are responsible for ensuring sustainable and robust system solutions while leading and developing teams. The role combines technical system understanding with leadership and business insight, and you feel confident in:
- Taking overall responsibility for systems engineering work
- Leading and supporting systems engineers in complex assignments
- Making technical decisions and driving the work forward
- Being a key player in dialogue with customers and other stakeholders
- Driving development within the Systems Engineering area and training others
As a Systems Engineer / Systems Engineer
You work independently or in teams with requirements and systems in various phases of the lifecycle. You have a clear systems thinking approach and can translate needs into technical solutions.
The work may include, among other things:
- Requirements management and refinement
- Architecture and design of system solutions
- System integration and interface management
- Verification and validation
- Configuration management
- Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
We are looking for someone who:
- Is confident in your competence within systems engineering and can work independently in complex assignments
- Has strong systems thinking and understands how components interact in wholes
- Can translate business and customer needs into clear technical requirements
- Has experience working with systems throughout the entire lifecycle
- Has a good understanding of established methods and frameworks within Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288)
- Is accustomed to taking responsibility, driving work forward, and making well-founded decisions
- Hold an academic degree at least at the university level with a technical focus
For the role of Systems Engineering Manager, the following also applies:
- Experience in leading and developing teams
- Experience in creating structure, clarity, and direction in complex assignments
- Confidence in combining technology, business, and leadership
Merits
- Certification within Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP/ASEP)
- Experience with requirements management tools
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience from larger projects within the defense sector
Security Clearance & Education Verification
Our assignments are varied, and many are within security-classified areas, which means you may need to undergo a security clearance check before starting with us. Swedish citizenship is a requirement. For all recruitments at AFRY, an ID check, reference checks, and education verification are always conducted as a baseline before employment.
Business travel may occur. Locations possible in several cities: Stockholm/Solna, Uppsala, Enköping, Örnsköldsvik, Karlskoga, Arboga, Skövde, Malmö.
