IT and Cybersecurity Specialist

The National Board of Forensic Medicine (RMV) is the expert agency that provides the judicial system with the basis for important decisions – from forensic medicine and forensic analysis to forensic psychiatric investigations. We are now looking for an IT and Cybersecurity Specialist to join the IT and Digitalization Unit. The IT and Digitalization Unit is part of the agency's headquarters, located centrally in Stockholm. The unit is responsible for IT operations, IT governance, IT development, and Cybersecurity. RMV is currently conducting several digitalization projects and development initiatives, thereby expanding its IT and digitalization organization.

Your Role

In this role, you will work with security measures to protect information and information systems. You will collaborate closely with IT architects, IT governance managers/project managers, and system technicians to ensure that systems are protected against unauthorized access, manipulation, and other security threats.

You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and verifying security requirements for information systems. You will map needs and develop improvement proposals to be presented to the respective target groups.

You will support the implementation of our assignments and projects by contributing your competence and experience. The work also includes reviewing and analyzing technical security solutions, as well as participating in information security analyses, such as vulnerability assessments and risk management. Furthermore, you are responsible for creating and maintaining security documentation, such as descriptions, guidelines, instructions, and policies.

Qualifications

  • You have a university or college degree in fields such as IT, engineering, IT security, or systems science. Alternatively, you may have acquired equivalent knowledge through professional experience, which the employer deems equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in cyber or IT security.
  • Good ability to communicate in both Swedish and English, orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with information and IT security standards and processes.
  • Experience working with signals security systems and/or log systems.
  • Technical practical professional experience in areas such as system operations or governance.
  • Training in signals security (e.g., trained signals security chief).
  • Experience from government operations with high requirements for confidentiality and security.

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong ability to collaborate, as you will have many contact points on a daily basis within both the IT unit and the agency as a whole. It is crucial that you are resilient and demonstrate good judgment regarding trade-offs and prioritization in your daily work. You are proactive in all matters and consider the overall perspective in everything you do. You also need to possess analytical skills and be knowledgeable and up-to-date in the broader IT field, as this role serves as a central knowledge resource for both the unit and the entire agency.

Employment Terms

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. Placement at one of the agency's offices. The agency's offices are located in various places in Sweden, so business travel may occur. Depending on operational needs, there is an opportunity to make individual agreements regarding remote work for part of the working hours. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.

We conduct background checks for some of our positions by checking extracts from the criminal record. Employment at RMV may include a duty to be placed on the war establishment. The position may be classified for security clearance, and a security investigation with register control may therefore be conducted during employment. This means you must be a Swedish citizen.

We apply a competency-based recruitment process, which may include psychotechnical tests, knowledge tests, or work samples. Prior to the employment of licensed healthcare personnel, checks are conducted with the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Inspectorate for Health and Care.
