Your assignment
In the role of staff officer with a legal focus, you will belong to the Signals Intelligence Department, which conducts signals surveillance in accordance with the Act on Signals Surveillance in Defence Intelligence Operations. The department delivers intelligence reports and other services to the agency's commissioners.
Furthermore, you will be part of the department's policy function, where you, together with the head of staff and other employees in the department's staff, provide support to the department in policy and legal matters. This includes gathering information, analyzing and preparing materials and proposals, as well as assisting in legal investigations. You work independently or in a team, handling more complex tasks and smaller investigation assignments.
In the role of staff officer, your main tasks consist of:
- Identifying and driving legal issues that arise in operations within defence intelligence production, technology, development, and information security
- Serving as a contact person for legal matters
- Supporting the work in the authorization, follow-up, and control processes at the agency
- Supporting the department's management group in matters included in your assignment, as well as training and informing employees about internal and external regulations
You can
We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic degree in law or similar, as assessed by the employer as equivalent
- Experience in legal work in another government agency, court, or equivalent
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in security and/or intelligence services
- Completed clerkship (notariatjänstgöring)

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approx. 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. Before employment, you will undergo a security check in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be mobilized in times of war.
