System Engineer with Windows focus at the National Board of Forensic Medicine

Do you want a workday where your contribution matters? At the National Board of Forensic Medicine (Rättsmedicinalverket), we work with everything from medical analyses and genetic investigations to psychiatric assessments. Regardless of your role, you contribute to legal security.

We are now looking for an experienced generalist technician with a focus on Windows to join our IT and Digitalization Unit. The IT and Digitalization Unit is part of the agency's headquarters, located centrally in Stockholm, and is responsible for IT operations, IT management, and IT development, with a priority on accelerating digitalization efforts. The National Board of Forensic Medicine is currently undertaking several development initiatives and is therefore expanding its IT and digitalization organization.

Your Role

Do you want to work in a varied position in a dynamic IT environment with a focus on critical systems and secure infrastructure? As a Windows Specialist at the National Board of Forensic Medicine, you will become part of the group responsible for operations, maintenance, and further development of the agency's IT environment, which is managed "on-prem" using ITIL and PM3 as governance frameworks. You will be a central technical resource for managing our Windows-based systems, including the design, operation, and maintenance of our Active Directory environment and related security solutions. Your duties include both daily operations and contributing your expertise to working groups/projects in more long-term improvement initiatives. You likely have a broad Windows foundation and an interest in deepening and further developing your skills in Windows Server.

Qualifications

  • Upper secondary education with a focus on IT or equivalent work experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory administration (GPO, domain structure).
  • Good and developable experience with Windows Server, installation, configuration, and migration.
  • Good knowledge of security principles, patching, and antivirus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • Experience working in a virtualized server environment.
  • Knowledge of certificate management (PKI, SSL/TLS, CA).
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in technical problem-solving and analysis within the field.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Experience from government operations with high demands on confidentiality and security.
  • Experience with application packaging and distribution via e.g., SCCM or Intune.
  • Experience with PowerShell and automation.
  • Experience with hardware, clients, and servers.
  • Experience in work requiring pedagogical skills.
  • Experience in documenting technology and daily routines.

Please note that requirements and any meritorious qualifications must be met by the application deadline.

Personal Attributes and Abilities

To succeed in this position, you need to have a pronounced ability to collaborate, as you will have many points of contact on a daily basis within both the IT and Digitalization Unit and the agency as a whole. It is crucial that you are resilient and demonstrate good judgment regarding trade-offs and prioritizations in your daily work. You are self-motivated and proactive, while always considering the overall perspective in everything you do. You also need to possess analytical skills and be knowledgeable and up-to-date in the IT field in general, as the role serves as a central knowledge resource for both the group and the entire unit.

We place great emphasis on your personal attributes.

Employment

The employment is a permanent full-time position starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. Placement is preferably at the headquarters in Stockholm. The agency's units are located in various places in Sweden, so travel may occur. Based on operational needs, there is an opportunity to make individual agreements regarding remote work for part of the working hours. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.

RMV is part of the justice chain, and we have high demands on employees' judgment and security awareness, as well as respect for law and order. As a representative of the National Board of Forensic Medicine, you follow the government's value base and contribute through your actions to legal security, legal certainty, and trust in the agency.

We conduct background checks for some of our positions by checking extracts from criminal records. Employment at RMV may include an obligation to be placed on the war establishment. The position may be classified for security clearance, and a security investigation with register control may therefore be conducted during employment. This means you would need to be a Swedish citizen.

We apply a competency-based recruitment process where work psychological tests, knowledge tests, or work samples may occur. Prior to the employment of licensed healthcare personnel, checks are conducted with the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Inspectorate for Health and Care.

Do you also want to contribute to a legally secure society?

We welcome your application by September 6. Grades and other documents will be brought to a potential interview. If you have protected personal data, contact the manager specified below.
