About the unit

The garrison unit at AMF4 provides services in the form of defense health, surveillance/operations, sea transport, and operation and maintenance of shooting and training areas within the Gothenburg garrison.

The simulator detachment belongs to the education and support department within the garrison unit.

Main responsibilities

The main task of the simulator technician is to ensure the operation of our simulator systems.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting and performing updates of hardware and software.

Another important part is to support our users to achieve maximum training effect.

The simulator service also involves supporting the unit with planning, follow-up, and evaluation of combat exercises. The simulator detachment at Amf 4 is under construction, with the acquisition of new simulator systems and adapted premises currently underway.

The role requires significant personal responsibility and engagement.

You will participate in training activities within the Swedish Armed Forces.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Professional officer, minimum rank OR6
• Proficient computer skills
• Technical education at upper secondary level or equivalent education assessed by the employer
• Driver's license, minimum category B

Personal qualities

We are looking for you who have a strong interest in technology and simulators. Preferably with technical experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or civilian industries. It is an advantage if you enjoy the educator role and have a pedagogical aptitude. If you are the right person but lack formal education, this can be resolved through further training.

Meritorious

• Previous service in simulator technology.
• Previous work with the Swedish Armed Forces' command and control systems.
• Equivalent education such as Electrical/telecom/IT and/or previous service in systems technology.

Employment type: Permanent employment according to the Officers Ordinance. Individual salary setting applies. The employment begins with a probation period of 6 months for new hires.

Work location: Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg.

Travel and evening/weekend duty occur.

At the Älvsborg Amphibian Regiment, in central Gothenburg, where land meets sea, we operate as an important link between the army and naval forces.
