Markstridsskolan is looking for a Section Chief (OF3) for the Tactics Department of the Training Unit

Markstridsskolan's (MSS) role is to work together with the rest of the army to create the prerequisites for the school to solve its assigned tasks in the best possible way, both nationally and internationally. MSS also performs tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, small arms, and support weapons. Within this framework, Markstridsskolan trains the Armed Forces' future leaders using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.

About the Department

The Tactics Department is part of Markstridsskolan's training unit and conducts courses as in-service or program-bound training for the army's officers, specialist officers, and eventually reserve officers. The courses are aimed partly at officers who, in their progression, should be able to serve at a level ranging from company commander to staff officer in a brigade staff, and partly at specialist officers who should be able to serve as functional representatives, staff members, or training responsible at the battalion level.

About the Position

All professional officers on the tactics department are teachers with the main task of conducting training for officers and specialist officers at courses arranged by MSS, such as: Tactical Course Army (TaK A), Higher Specialist Officer Training (HSOU), and various Professional and Position Courses (YBK) with the target group of officers and specialist officers in the army's maneuver units. As a teacher, it is part of the role to draft orders, exercise plans, and lesson materials for training.

As a section chief, you also support the department head in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training. You provide decision support regarding resource issues and are expected to participate in project groups within MSS aimed at contributing a training perspective to development in various areas.

Qualifications

• Specialization in Land Warfare
• Category B Driver's License

Merits

Experience in the position of company commander in a maneuver company

Experience in staff work and command methods at a maneuver battalion and/or Brigade.

You have a well-founded and confirmed interest in developing the army's officer corps and contributing to the development of pedagogy and methods in training.
