Mark Infantry School (MSS) works together with the rest of the army to create the conditions for infantry units to carry out their assigned tasks in the best possible way, both nationally and internationally. MSS also handles tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-borne equipment, small arms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Infantry School educates the Armed Forces' future leaders using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.

Within this framework, the Training Unit at MSS trains the army's commanders and units with the support of advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge. As a Staff Assistant at the Training Unit, you will primarily work at the Command Training Facility (LTA Battalion), alternatively with the exercise planners or the unit management.

Main Responsibilities:

Your role involves various administrative tasks aimed at preparing and conducting training/exercises. You will also handle incoming and outgoing information in various command support systems. You may participate in various roles as a staff assistant or instructor for staff assistants. You will also support the unit with administrative tasks.

The employment involves periodic absence for exercises and business trips in Sweden as well as abroad.

There is an opportunity to develop within the role towards a functional focus such as Fire Control Assistant, Target Engagement Assistant, or Intelligence Assistant.

Qualifications:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Completed military basic training
  • Class B driver's license (manual transmission)

Merits:

  • Previous employment within the Swedish Armed Forces or basic training as a staff assistant
  • Completed staff assistant training
  • Experience with the Swedish Armed Forces' command support systems such as SLB, SHQ
  • Good ability to handle Microsoft Office applications (Office 2010 and later)
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • Military work permit
  • PRIO training

The Infantry School is an army-common school for the development, education, and training of the army's combat units. The Infantry School educates officers and specialist officers, plans and conducts exercises, and trains combat units in advanced combat training facilities.

In close cooperation with the Army Staff and other units, the Infantry School develops standard units, capabilities, methods, and materiel. Within the framework of the entire Armed Forces' growth, the Infantry School plays an important role in the ongoing modernization of the army.
