Transport Flight Squadron at Skaraborg Wing F7 Såtenäs

The Transport Flight Squadron is the squadron that provides tactical transport aviation with the Tp84 aircraft (C-130 Hercules) both nationally and internationally. Our task is to transport materiel and personnel, conduct air-borne supply, and perform tactical transport.

Job Responsibilities

The main task of the Transport Flight Company is to create conditions for flying with the TP84 (C-130H) by conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on the aircraft system. The company is also responsible for carrying out its own materiel and vehicle service, component maintenance, safety materiel service, store service, and ramp service for the company and the squadron.

As the acting commander of the materiel platoon at the Transport Flight Company, your primary duties are to lead and develop the materiel platoon and the two subordinate troops. Together with your commander and your subordinate troops, you will carry out:

• Work time and readiness planning.
• Follow-up of periodic further education and training.
• Train your platoon in basic soldier skills.
• Participate in exercise and mission planning for your platoon and parts of the company.
• Lead the company's materiel service and annual inventory.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Professional Officer (SO6/7 or OF 1/2).
• Fit for duty assessment at a statutory health examination according to AFS 2014:43 (plastic examination) conducted at Såtenäs upon employment.
• Driver's License Category B (non-automatic).
• Swedish citizenship.
• Passed special security clearance/background check.
• Passed according to the Swedish Armed Forces' physical standard FMFyss.

Personal Qualities

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability in the selection process.

MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional officer education in logistics or technology.
• Previous experience in positions with personnel responsibility or in platoon leadership.
• Good knowledge of the Air Force and materiel processes.
• Knowledge and experience of working in systems Prio, Fenix, or Lift.
• Shooting instructor, shooting leader, or TOS instructor.
• Aircraft Technician Cat B1/B2.
• Vehicle instructor or special vehicle instructor.

Also meritorious:

• Military driver's license.
• Private driver's license C & CE.
• Driver training for forklift and wheel loader.

Other Info

Being a professional officer means you are employed full-time. On average, you will work 40-hour workweeks, but working hours may be irregular depending on operational needs. Readiness and weekend duty occur. Official travel domestically/internationally as well as exercises and missions nationally and internationally are part of the role.

You are expected to develop your capabilities as a soldier over time and defend Sweden's interests and our right to live as we choose.

• Employment type: OFF/K, Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probation period if you are not already employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.

Skaraborg Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here we have combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aviation. We conduct basic and position training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions. In Sweden, the operations are located at Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport aviation cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
