Ungdomsfält Malmö (Youth Field Malmö) works with a field-based and preventive approach with children and young people in various environments across the city. With the new Social Services Act, this working method is further strengthened, and the operations are currently in a development phase. We are now looking for two field secretaries for a fixed-term development assignment focused on mapping how the social services' field work can be developed for children aged 9–11.
Job Responsibilities
Youth Field Malmö is seeking two colleagues who wish to contribute to developing preventive work for a younger target group. The assignment involves mapping the 9–11 age group and producing a foundation document that describes how the social services' field work can be conducted in the best possible way for children in this age group.
You will combine practical field work with mapping, analysis, and collaboration. The work involves meeting children and their guardians in various environments, building relationships, and documenting observations that form the basis for the mapping. An important part of the assignment is also collaborating with schools, the police, other social services operations, and civil society to identify needs and development opportunities.
Youth Field is divided into four geographical areas with four people in each team. You will work both in the field and together with colleagues and collaboration partners to analyze which preventive measures are relevant for the target group.
The crime and drug prevention work is carried out from a clear authority role. The assignment also includes work at various major events for children and young people.
As an employer, we actively and systematically work for a safe and secure working environment. This means clear routines, team work, support from colleagues and managers, and a continuous focus on safety and security in field work.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- are educated as a social worker, social pedagogue (VET, 400 credits/2 years), or have other education that the employer considers equivalent.
- have at least two years of experience in social work.
- have experience working with children and/or young people.
- have a valid B-driver's license (automatic transmission license is sufficient).
- have very good proficiency in Swedish (reading and writing).
It is meritorious if you have:
- good knowledge of Malmö, both as a city and as a politically governed organization.
- experience in field work.
- experience collaborating with schools, other authorities, and civil society.
- experience in exercising authority or authority work within social services.
- knowledge of prevention work aimed at children and young people.
- training in MI (Motivational Interviewing), Repulse, Solution-focused, or other relevant methods.
- experience documenting in various operational systems.
- experience following safety and security routines.
- language skills in one of the most common languages spoken in Malmö.
- experience working both independently and in teams.
You have the courage to work in the field and be present in various environments in the city. You feel confident contacting children, young people, and guardians and have the ability to build trusting relationships.
You have good collaboration skills and thrive working in teams, while also being able to take individual responsibility and work independently when the situation requires it. You communicate clearly, are receptive, and contribute to professional and respectful treatment. The work requires flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the development of a new way of working.
Working hours are scheduled and irregular, primarily in the afternoon, evening, and on weekends (approximately every fourth week). Work shifts can end as late as approximately 01:00 on weekdays. Individual work shifts can be up to approximately ten hours long, and the work is performed on average about four days per week.
We welcome your application!
