As a support educator, you guide and implement pedagogical approaches in customer-facing work. This includes producing pedagogical materials for employees, and you are responsible for the development of pedagogical work in close collaboration with the unit manager. From a customer perspective, you work with core values and quality that promote the customer's participation, self-determination, and integrity.

You participate in customer-facing work and support the work group towards a developmental approach. The job involves continuously updating yourself on pedagogical, evidence-based knowledge and informing and guiding the work group about this. Furthermore, you work with various types of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) that should be implemented in the individual work regarding the customer. In your role, you will also perform tasks such as staffing and planning together with the unit manager.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have post-secondary specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits or 60 university credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability field throughout its entirety. We want you to have good knowledge and experience of both intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities. Education and experience in clarifying pedagogy/TEACCH and low-affective handling are prerequisites for the work, as well as experience working with people within the autism spectrum. If you have education and experience of different communication methods/models directed towards the target group such as AAC, Conversation Mat, and Snoezelen, it is meritorious.

Since communication and documentation are part of your duties, you need to handle the Swedish language in both speech and writing. We want you to have basic computer skills, and if you also have experience with social documentation, it is meritorious. A B-driver's license and access to a private car are required for the position.

As a person, you are socially competent and have good cooperation skills. You are stress-resistant, flexible, find solutions in everyday life, and have a professional attitude towards everyone you meet in your work. Furthermore, you have the ability to plan and structure work from a holistic perspective. The work requires that you can make your own decisions while having the ability to respect decisions made and carry out work on behalf of others. You work both independently and together with colleagues.

The operations of the Care Administration are directed towards the elderly and persons who need disability support, as well as persons who need home healthcare. The operations are functionally divided into four areas: support in ordinary housing, support in care and nursing homes, health and medical care, and disability support. The administration also includes the authority unit, the national gymnasium, and the Assistive Technology Centre in Eastern Skåne.
