Do you want to work with a down-to-earth and cozy family in Malmö? A lovely 7-year-old girl lives here who needs skilled assistants. Are you the one we are looking for?

The girl starts school in August and will need an assistant with her at school. This means that on some days you will accompany her to school, and on other days you will work with her at home in the afternoons. The position is approximately 80% with a rolling schedule where you work roughly 07:30–15:00 or 15:00–20:00. You should also expect to work some shifts every other weekend.

She lives with her parents and two younger siblings in a house in Malmö. She is a kind, curious, and playful little girl who needs round-the-clock supervision. Her epilepsy means she needs a present and attentive assistant by her side who can act quickly in case of changes while simultaneously providing calm and security in everyday life.

About the girl

She has an intellectual disability and severe epilepsy. She loves bathing, enjoys music, books, cozy moments, and exploring her surroundings. She thrives with people who are gentle, patient, and responsive. Since the girl is non-verbal and is still developing her communicative skills, using support signs among other methods, it is important that you are good at interpreting signals, reading situations, and providing support during play, routines, and rest.

Job Responsibilities

As an assistant, you will among other things:

• Provide constant supervision with a focus on safety and noticing signs of epileptic seizures
• Support during play, activities, and daily routines
• Help with care and personal hygiene
• Create calm and structure in the work with the family
• Be an important and secure person for both the girl and the family

We are looking for someone who is:

• Calm, empathetic, and secure
• Attentive and quick to act
• Playful, flexible, and fond of children
• Thorough, gentle in your approach, and good at cooperating with the family and the child's siblings
• Responsible and confident in following routines

Previous experience with children, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, or assistance is advantageous. You speak fluent Swedish and can provide a police certificate.

The family eats a vegan diet and would view it positively if you also shared this dietary preference and worldview, but it is not a requirement.
