Workplace Description

Ormkärrsskolan has been an independent school unit since autumn 2023. The school is located in the heart of the Ormkärr area, close to beautiful nature areas and a large schoolyard. Ormkärrsskolan is an F-6 school (grades 1-6) with approximately 190 students.

Since the school recently became an independent unit, there is an opportunity to help build the school culture and contribute to new initiatives. Ormkärrsskolan is a small school where everyone knows each other, both students and staff. We create a safe environment to provide good conditions for students to learn and develop academically and socially. Staff members support each other; flexibility and the willingness to go the extra mile are particularly important in a small school.

The school has worked for several years on competence development regarding accessible learning environments to ensure every student's right to a good education. The school day should be predictable and clear, and students should feel that they are developing and succeeding.

All educators participate in competence development in "Language and Knowledge-Developing Approaches." The school has also started competence development in mathematics, and all teachers conduct lesson observations with each other.

Job Description

You will work as a class teacher at the lower secondary level (grades 1-3), where you are responsible for all theoretical teaching in your class. You will likely also teach English in a middle school class. As a teacher at Ormkärrsskolan, you are responsible for planning, teaching, evaluating, and assessing. You are part of a work team where you collaborate with colleagues and are an important part of collegial learning to create new and deepened knowledge. You will also collaborate with the educator from the leisure center (fritidshem) attached to the class.

The position is a temporary vacancy during the autumn term of 2026.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher with eligibility for grades 1-3 in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language, Mathematics, English, Social Studies, Science, and Technology, and preferably English for grades 4-6. You have good knowledge and experience of reading and writing acquisition as well as teaching the basics of mathematics.

You have the ability to design teaching in accordance with the Curriculum and current knowledge criteria. You take responsibility for and have insight into students' results and needs, and you structure and adapt your teaching to create a safe and adequate learning environment. You involve the student in planning and develop the student's ability to learn, both independently and together with others.

Your teaching is well-thought-out with clear learning goals, varied content, and a clear conclusion with feedback against the goal. You are skilled in leadership and stimulation and find ways to motivate students. Based on the curriculum, you plan teaching so that it meets the specific students you have in your classroom. You regularly reflect on your teaching to develop it so that it better meets the students.

You are secure, stable, have self-awareness, and are a clear leader in the classroom. You value and create good conditions for cooperation and build good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You are relationship-building and responsive with clear and thoughtful leadership. You plan, organize, prioritize, and analyze your teaching as well as other duties included in your role in an effective manner.

Requirements

• Certified teacher for grades 1-3 in the subjects Swedish (SV), Swedish as a Second Language (SVA), Mathematics (MA), English (ENG), Social Studies (SO), Natural Sciences (NO), and Technology (TK).

Merits
