About us

Väsby Nya Gymnasium is a municipal upper secondary school with approximately 550 students and 40 teachers. The school offers six different programs: social sciences, economics, natural sciences, technology, hotel and tourism, and introductory programs. The school also has an ongoing sports initiative with several sports orientations. We offer National Sports Education (NIU) in swimming and triathlon, as well as Local Sports Education (LIU) in football, hockey, basketball, and floorball. The school facilities are open and bright, located in a multi-purpose building where the high school collaborates with the cultural school, public library, and other units. The school features a large multi-hall with a gym and dance studio. The student body at VNG is heterogeneous, and the atmosphere is family-like, with close collaboration between mentors, student health services, and school management.

About the position

On the Hotel and Tourism program (HT), you will be part of the program's work team, collaborating with qualified teachers who have long experience working on HT. All teachers on HT also have mentorship responsibilities for the students on the program. At HT, we have students following the national program mixed with students on introductory programs. A key part of the position is, of course, APL (Work Integrated Learning) – the students' internships and contact with internship providers. Interviews start in week 32.

The position is a permanent full-time employment.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Teaching certification with eligibility in Hotel and Tourism
• Experience teaching at the upper secondary level

As a person, you are flexible, being attuned to the diverse needs of our students in your teaching. Furthermore, you believe it is important to build good relationships with students, guardians, and school staff. We also believe that you need to be solution-focused to fit the role, demonstrating the ability to find solutions for students who may be at different levels and have different needs.
