The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, GIH, is Sweden's leading knowledge centre for sport, performance development, physical activity and health. We conduct high-quality, socially relevant research with a focus on the human body in motion. We educate teachers in the school subject of physical education and health, as well as coaches, health scientists, behavioural scientists, sports and health managers, sports scientists and researchers. At GIH, 160 employees and 1,400 students work and study. The university college is located in central Stockholm, close to Stockholm Stadium and a large sports and outdoor recreation area.
At the Department of Health Sciences, education, research and collaboration are conducted within the subject areas of psychology, neuroscience and public health science. We are currently looking for a Project Assistant who wants to contribute to an exciting research project mapping and measuring the fitness and strength of upper secondary school students.
Job Description
In the role of Project Assistant, you will be involved in several parts of the research process. The tasks include, among other things:
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the study.
- Recruit schools and participants.
- Conduct measurements of muscle strength and fitness.
- Handle ongoing communication and answer questions from participants, guardians and schools.
- Process and analyse quantitative data.
- Lead the practical work for data collection for the project.
- Administrative tasks related to data collection.
- Assist with other tasks related to the studies.
The position requires that you can work physically on-site and have the opportunity to participate in school visits for data collection, which sometimes involves travel to other locations and early mornings.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- A Master's degree in public health science, sports science or a corresponding area that the employer deems relevant,
- Documented experience of working in research projects within the field of health promotion with young people,
- Good knowledge of statistical software, such as SPSS,
- Good language skills in Swedish, both oral and written, as a central part of the role involves communicating with school students.

Merits
- Experience of working with young people in a school environment,
- Category B driver's licence.
Duration/Working Hours
The employment is a fixed-term appointment of approx. 7 months. The extent is 100% of full-time. Start in August as agreed, until 16 April 2027.
Salary
