RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for you who are a cheerful and creative mathematics teacher. You will be part of the mathematics subject group, which meets continuously for collegial learning. You will be responsible for a couple of mathematics courses on both vocational programs and university-preparatory programs. At the school, we have two lead teachers in mathematics who lead the collegial work in the mathematics subject group.

The position is part-time. Between 50-60% distributed over 3 days. Therefore, it may suit a teacher student who is approaching their teaching degree. Lerum Gymnasium is a training school, which means we have close cooperation with GU (University of Gothenburg) and many of our teachers host VFU (clinical/practical training) students.

Since Lerum Gymnasium is a large school with approximately 1,400 students, there may be good opportunities for extension after the autumn term of 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have subject eligibility in mathematics or are studying to become a secondary school teacher in mathematics. Building good relationships with both students and colleagues is seen as a natural part of your professional practice. It is important that you are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others. You are a teacher of subjects and courses, but your practice is permeated by the curriculum's value base and the program's graduation goals.

We place special emphasis on your didactic competence and ability to meet students with different needs and challenges in their learning. You see collaboration with teachers and other professions as a natural prerequisite for success. You also value your own learning and development together with others. We place great importance on flexibility and solution-focus, and that you can collaborate and communicate with students, colleagues, school leadership, and other staff.

Selection and interviews take place continuously. However, it may also happen that the interviews take place at the beginning of August. The academic year for our teachers begins on August 12, and the students start school on August 19.
