Specialist Physician in Medical Radiology

Imaging and Functional Medicine (IFM) Västerbotten conducts extensive operations at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå, Skellefteå Hospital, Lycksele Hospital, as well as at health centers in southern Lapland. IFM Västerbotten is responsible for imaging-based radiological examinations such as nuclear medicine, mammography, and advanced peripheral and neuroradiological interventions. The equipment includes, among other things, five MRI scanners, nine CT units, two PET/CT units, and a cyclotron. The clinic performs approximately 190,000 examinations per year. A significant part of the operations involves ward rounds conducted at local, regional, and national levels. Research is carried out in collaboration with Umeå University, with a focus on fMRI and nuclear medicine using PET/CT, and international collaborative projects are underway. In cooperation with the university, training for physicians and radiographers is also provided. Just under 300 employees work at the clinic.

The position is based at Norrlands University Hospital. As Imaging and Functional Medicine Västerbotten is a county clinic, work at the county hospitals in Lycksele and Skellefteå may occur.

Responsibilities

As a specialist physician with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure.

This role involves radiological management and assessment of common radiological examinations. Interest in breast radiology is advantageous. As a specialist physician, you participate in the clinic's daily work, train resident physicians (ST-läkare), and together with other colleagues, you contribute to the clinic's quality and development work. On-call and standby duties are included.

Qualifications

For this job, you need to be a licensed physician with specialist competence in medical radiology and have good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1. Research experience is advantageous.
