Do you want to work close to the patient in a role where your skills as a nurse truly make a difference? To Health and Elderly Care in Umeå Municipality, we are now looking for nurses with placement at Unit 2 at Prästsjögården, a new unit focused on people in the end of life as well as people with extensive care and nursing needs.
Here, you will have the opportunity to shape working methods, structure, and teamwork from the start.
About the workplace
Prästsjögården is a care and nursing home in Umeå Municipality. At Unit 2, we are currently developing a practice where security, continuity, symptom relief, participation, and quality of life are central parts of the care.
The care is provided within the framework of municipal primary healthcare. This means that as a nurse, you work close to the patient and the team, focusing on assessments, follow-up, planning, and support in challenging care situations.
The unit consists of 11 places and is directed towards people with palliative care needs, where the need for proximity, structure, and coordination is great. The work is carried out in close collaboration with nursing staff, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors, social services/authorities, managers, and relatives.
Your assignment
As a nurse at Unit 2, you will have a qualified and meaningful assignment where your clinical competence, your approach to people, and your ability to create security are of great importance.
You will work with standard nursing tasks within municipal healthcare, with a special focus on people in the end of life and people with complex care needs.
The assignment includes, among other things:
- making independent assessments and following up on patients' health status
- planning, implementing, and evaluating health care interventions
- working with symptom relief, security, participation, and quality of life
- identifying changed needs and coordinating interventions together with the team
- collaborating with doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nursing staff
- supervising and supporting nursing staff in daily work
- meeting and supporting relatives in complex and emotionally difficult situations
- working with medication management, documentation, and quality work
- contributing to the development of routines, working methods, and collaboration at a new unit
The work involves that you need to be able to prioritize, create calm in changing situations, and contribute to a secure and professional teamwork.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and who want to work with patients where nursing, clinical assessments, continuity, and approach are crucial.
You are secure in your professional role and have the ability to make independent decisions within your assignment. You have good cooperation skills and enjoy working close to other professions. You have a structured way of working and can keep your calm even when situations change quickly.
To thrive with us, you need to have a genuine interest in caring for people in the end of life and people with extensive care and nursing needs. You also need to be able to meet patients and relatives with respect, sensitivity, and professionalism.
We are looking for you who:
- are secure, responsible, and solution-focused

- have a supervisory approach towards nursing staff
- can meet relatives in difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
- want to contribute to the development of a new unit and new working methods
