Permanent Position as Dental Nurse in Orofacial Medicine and Cariology, Region Västerbotten

Västerbotten Public Dental Service offers general and specialist dental care across all specialties. We participate in the clinical education of dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians, and we also run dental technical operations. We offer modern and well-equipped clinics and are at the forefront of research and development through our close collaboration with the Department of Odontology at Umeå University.

The specialist dental care is primarily located at Norrland's Academic Dental Care, adjacent to Norrland University Hospital in Umeå. We also have competence centers under construction in Skellefteå and Lycksele. We provide specialist dental care and specialist training for dentists, with close collaboration with the Department of Odontology at Umeå University in basic and continuing education, as well as research and development.

Orofacial Medicine is a referral center for patients requiring dental treatment as part of their medical care, serving patients from Region Västerbotten as well as other regions in Norrland. Orofacial medicine covers prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of complex oral conditions linked to systemic diseases and/or disabilities. For patients requiring special care, we offer sedation and also dental treatment under general anesthesia.

Cariology receives referred patients from general and specialist clinics within the Public Dental Service, as well as from private healthcare providers. Specialist-level cariology treatment includes cause investigation, risk assessment, diagnosis, disease treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with uncontrolled caries disease. Other conditions covered include erosive tooth wear, enamel hypoplasias, and dry mouth.

To the department of Orofacial Medicine and Cariology, we are now seeking a Dental Nurse with placement primarily within Orofacial Medicine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a dental nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe. We are looking for a dental nurse with a particular interest in medical dental care who wants to be heavily involved in the daily care of our patients. You will work with patients who have complex medical needs, functional impairments, or dental anxiety.

The role involves assisting with investigations and treatments (including nitrous oxide and anesthesia), collaborating with healthcare services, and providing nursing care for infection-sensitive patients. The position also includes administrative tasks related to the team's patients. Work in the sterilization department and reception may also occur.

We use computerized booking systems and communication solutions via 1177 and Tele-Q. We work in the medical record system T4. As a dental nurse with us, you contribute structure and security for both patients and the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a dental nurse degree.

As a person, you are flexible, have an easy time collaborating with others, and have a strong commitment and interest in quality-oriented dental care for adults. You consider patient care and service a natural part of the job.

You are proactive and thrive both in assisting and working independently. You are administratively minded, master the Swedish language, and express yourself well both verbally and in writing.

Experience is meritorious but not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis.
