At Bjästaskolan, we are now looking for an engaged and development-oriented special needs teacher or special educator who wants to be an important part of our work to create the best conditions for all students' learning and development.

Bjästaskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F–9) with approximately 380 students and is located in the scenic area of Bjästa, about two miles south of Örnsköldsvik. The school is part of the Nätra school district together with Köpmanholmenskolan and Sidensjöskolan. Here we work together to create a safe, inclusive and educational environment where every student is given the opportunity to succeed.

Job Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher/special educator, you are a key person in the school's student health work and pedagogical development. You work closely with teachers, the student health team, guardians and school management to create good conditions for students' learning.

Your main tasks are to:

• Identify, analyze and follow up on students' need for special support.
• Carry out pedagogical investigations and contribute to action plans.
• Provide support to students individually, in small groups and through guidance of educators.
• Be a support in the work with extra adaptations and inclusive learning environments.
• Participate actively in the student health team's work.
• Contribute to the school's systematic quality work and development of teaching.

For those who are new to the profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality has an induction program for new teachers, which means that you will get a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject qualification who can guide and support you.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a degree as a special needs teacher or special educator.

We are looking for you who like to be challenged and think new, who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and are a clear leader in the classroom. To be a role model and create a good atmosphere in the student group and the work team is a matter of course for you.

We would like to see that you have experience in leading group processes, the ability to create structure and to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are responsive, take responsibility, are engaged and creative.

We appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is included in both the Finnish and Sami administrative area.

In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in security class so security clearance may take place. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
