Åsenskolan is a middle school located in central Filipstad. The school has approximately 200 students, divided into four classes per grade level. Åsenskolan strives for small class sizes, a developed student health service, and a safe schoolyard supported by well-being wardens. The school also offers adapted primary education and an after-school program.

Responsibilities

You will work in our special education group, where you will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on current guidelines. As a special needs teacher or teacher, you are responsible for making the teaching accessible so that all students can succeed. You actively support and motivate students in their development, both socially and academically.

Your duties include supporting students by planning parts of their school day in close collaboration with class teachers and the Student Health Team (SHT). You take an active responsibility for creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

As a special needs teacher, you will also perform overarching special educational tasks, such as collegial school development work, observation, and supervision. You will collaborate closely with the school's other special needs teacher and the SHT.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in special needs education and/or a teaching degree with a license for primary school grades 4–6. Previous experience working with students in need of special support is meritorious. Competence in special pedagogy and/or Swedish as a second language is also an advantage.

As a teacher in our special education group, it is important that you are flexible and structured with good collaboration skills. You easily build relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. As a person, you are secure and stable, which is reflected in how you handle various situations. You have your own drive, structure your work clearly, and work towards achieving the school's common goals.

We expect you to contribute with engagement, a professional attitude, and that you take the initiative to constantly develop yourself and the organization. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions
