About the Department

The department's mission is to offer adults guidance and education in lifelong learning. Within the department, there is also guidance and support for adults' individual development towards self-sufficiency. The department is responsible for integration and also coordinates labor market policy measures.

About the Position

The Social Services for Individuals and Families (IFO) is part of the Learning and Work Department, together with Individual and Development, Adult Education, and the Municipality's Learning Center. IFO is responsible for official authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Care of Abusers of Spirits Act (LVM) for children and adults, as well as offering open care and open support. In total, about 30 people work within the operation. Our common goal is to create positive results for those we serve.

We have expanded the service and are therefore looking for a new colleague for our Children's Group.

IFO is divided into the Children's Group, the Adults Group, and a joint Open Care unit focusing on family and addiction treatment, as well as parental support and youth counselors. The Children's Group consists, with this expansion, of 14 employees, two of whom have reception functions. Two case handlers provide support in daily work, and new social secretaries receive a mentor upon starting. We work in a family-oriented and solution-focused manner.

Responsibilities

As a Social Secretary, you are responsible for:

  • Official authority for children and young people
  • Investigating children's needs, following up on open care interventions and placements
  • In some positions in the group, this also includes recruiting, investigating, and supervising contractors

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work. It is an advantage if you have training in Signs of Safety and/or BBIC. We would like you to have experience working in child care or other official authority. It is meritorious if you have experience in supervising and guiding contractors.

The department's various operations collaborate closely, which is an important success factor. Therefore, we see that you work well with other people through a listening and communicative approach. You take responsibility for your task and plan, organize, and prioritize effectively so that timeframes are met. We see that you adapt easily to changed circumstances as the role may involve rapid changes. It is important that you act in accordance with decisions made and can maintain calm in more stressful situations.

The position requires good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. A driver's license (Category B) is a requirement.

Offer

With us, you get the opportunity to work with ambitious and competent colleagues, where we have a clear focus on those we serve. We work with participation and quality in a respectful manner both within and outside the unit and towards our clients.

As an employee, you will also enjoy benefits such as a wellness allowance, wellness hour, flexible working hours, and continuous competence development.

For those who do not live in the municipality, there are commuting opportunities, for example, a bike path along the Klarälven line and bus from Karlstad. As a new employee in Forshaga Municipality, you will also receive 500 extra points with Forshagabostäder, which is enough to get an apartment.

Conditions

Since you will be working with children and young people, we ask that you submit an extract from the criminal record register before employment. The form to apply for an extract from the criminal record register can be found at the Police website (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/).

Probationary employment may be applied.

Start date: As soon as possible or according to agreement.

Recruitment may take place during the application period, so do not wait with your application!

Welcome with your application! We want you to send your application via our recruitment tool on our website. Information on how we handle your personal data can be found here. If you for some reason cannot apply this way (e.g., protected identity), please contact the advertisement's contact person for an alternative application path.
