We are looking for a personal assistant for a woman in her 50s who uses a wheelchair and has a combined visual and hearing impairment. She lives in Karlstad with her family, and there are dogs in the home. As her assistant, you will become an important part of her daily life and help create conditions for participation and quality of life. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting her in living her life as independently and equally as possible.

The role involves care, training, and assistance with various activities. We expect the successful candidate to have knowledge of sign language, at least equivalent to mastering the manual alphabet. The work takes place in her home and wherever she may be. Working hours vary between day and evening shifts, seven days a week. We prefer candidates who are flexible and available to work with short notice when needed, such as in cases of illness.

You will be part of a team of personal assistants selected specifically for this client. Therefore, good work ethic, teamwork, and flexibility are essential qualities.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone with a flexible and independent work style who adapts easily to new situations. Knowledge of sign language is a requirement. You must be able to take responsibility and work based on the individual's needs. Competence in documentation and a professional attitude are desirable. Most importantly, you must have a genuine interest and empathy for caring for people.

Other qualities that would benefit you in this role include a good sense of humor, calmness, patience, and responsibility. You must be fluent in Swedish, as good communication is crucial in this job. Previous experience in personal assistance is considered a significant advantage.
