Project Manager for Employment and Integration Unit in Årjäng Municipality

Årjäng Municipality is a proud growth community with optimism for the future. We take on challenges with confidence and courage through collaboration. Here, there is room for new people and new ideas to take root. Those who live, work, and visit Årjäng often say that everything that matters is close by.

Do you want to help develop the future of employment and integration services?

The Employment and Integration Unit in Årjäng Municipality is embarking on an exciting development journey. We are now looking for an engaged project manager who wants to drive the work of developing the operations into an inclusive, language and knowledge-developing, and working-life-oriented activity for newly arrived immigrants and other individuals who are far from the labor market.

Through a project funded by §37 funds via the County Administrative Board of Värmland, the activity will be developed into Årjängs Kompassen (The Årjäng Compass) – an activity that strengthens individuals' opportunities for self-sufficiency, participation, and establishment in society.

As a project manager, you will work together with colleagues, participants, municipal departments, and external partners to develop and implement new ways of working. The role combines strategic development work with operational efforts close to the target group.

Responsibilities

In the role of project manager, you will among other things:

  • Coordinate, follow up, and partially lead the project's activities and goals.
  • Map the target group's needs, conditions, and obstacles together with participants and staff.
  • Conduct motivational and coaching conversations with participants.
  • Develop and implement language and knowledge-developing working methods in the activity.
  • Support the activity's transition from a focus on employment to work-life preparatory practice, learning, and self-sufficiency.
  • Develop methods for participant influence, follow-up, and quality assurance.
  • Plan and carry out competence development initiatives for both participants and staff.
  • Be responsible for documentation, reporting, evaluation, and implementation of the project's results.
  • Coordinate collaboration with municipal departments, employers, civil society, and authorities.
  • Create support materials, routines, methods, and working methods at both individual and group levels.
  • Plan and conduct group activities where language and knowledge development are in focus.
  • The work involves close collaboration with colleagues, employers, municipal departments, and authorities such as the Swedish Public Employment Service and the County Administrative Board.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • Have a relevant university degree in, for example, behavioral science or another education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Have experience in project management and working in project form.
  • Have experience working with integration, labor market measures, and/or adult education.
  • Have experience working with target groups who are far from the labor market.
  • Have good knowledge of and experience in collaboration between different societal actors.
  • Have good ability to document, analyze, and follow up on activities.
  • Have experience collaborating with, for example, the Swedish Public Employment Service, economic assistance, adult education, or other relevant actors.
  • Have experience with motivational and coaching conversations.
  • Hold a valid Category B driver's license (required).
  • Can provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) before employment.

Merits

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

  • Language and knowledge-developing working methods.
  • Work with the establishment of newly arrived immigrants.
  • Supported Employment, Supported Education, and Supported Training.
  • Rights-based work and human rights.
  • Norm criticism and inclusion work.
  • Projects funded through state development funds or external grants.
  • Mentoring of colleagues or participants.
  • Work within municipal operations.

Personal Qualities

To succeed in the role, we see that you are:

  • Relationship-building and receptive.
  • Independent and structured.
  • Initiative-taking and development-oriented.
  • Analytical and solution-focused.
  • Confident in leading change and development work.
  • Skilled at creating engagement, motivation, and participation.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

What We Offer

With us, you have the opportunity to make a real difference for people while contributing to the development of an activity of great significance for the municipality's future.

You will become a key person in important development work where inclusion, participation, and sustainable results are in focus. Together, we are building Årjängs Kompassen – a guide towards self-sufficiency, participation, and establishment in society.
