Welcome to Höglundaskolan in Säffle Municipality!
In Säffle Municipality, we have the ability, will, and courage to act. Together, we are building a sustainable and democratic municipality based on trust, responsibility, and engagement. We strive to create a dynamic and inclusive community where residents feel safe and involved. Based on this vision, we have formulated how we want to live in Säffle by 2035.
Höglundaskolan organizes its operations to meet the needs of more students for school social support and to complement the pedagogical staff's competence in our shared responsibility for students' knowledge and personal development. Based on this, we are now looking for two engaged and proactive social pedagogues/student coaches who will focus on grades F-3 and grades 4-6 respectively – but remember, we are all here for all our students!
Description
For the start of the school year 2026/2027, Höglundaskolan will recruit staff for student coaching roles. These are two positions with tasks formulated based on students' social needs and the school's compensatory mission. Currently, one position focuses more on lower primary school and one on middle primary school, but both positions require great flexibility depending on the needs arising in the operation.
Key areas at the start include social mentoring in certain grade levels, active work with norms and values, and providing social support during transitions and non-instructional times (such as pedagogical lunch, recess, etc.). The social pedagogue/student coach will form the foundation for creating support structures in the school day at both group and individual levels. The social pedagogical mission aims to collaborate closely with teachers to enable their focus on developing teaching.
The role will be developed in close consultation with the student welfare team, teachers, after-school center staff, and school management based on systematic quality work.
Responsibilities
The tasks include, among other things:
- Monitoring problematic school absenteeism/presence.
- Contact with guardians.
- Conflict management.
- Coaching conversations focused on students' strategies for coping with the school day.
- Leading and participating in the implementation of development work regarding non-instructional time (recess, transitions, etc.).
The role also involves independently creating support materials, identifying areas for development, and actively working on the school social learning environment with and around our students. You will also initiate collaboration with colleagues based on this.
The role targets both the school's operations and the after-school center activities.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a positive outlook and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic school environment with much happening simultaneously. You are strong in relationship building and skilled at motivating, while being clear and adapting your approach and interventions based on the needs of students and colleagues as well as the school's value base.
In your work, you are organized and responsible. Based on our routines and guidelines, you are confident in making your own decisions when needed. You enjoy and are good at collaborating and working together with others, both internally and externally.
Conditions
We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or have at least a two-year post-secondary education such as treatment/social pedagogy.
It is meritorious if you:
- Have experience working in treatment for adults, children, and youth.
- Have experience with low-affective handling, rePULSE, MI, solution-focused approach, ICDP, or other evidence-based methods.
- Have experience with documentation work.
- Have experience working with students from different backgrounds.
The position requires that you master Swedish in speech and writing. Multilingualism is meritorious.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability in addition to educational requirements. Since the work involves special responsibility, we will request that you present extracts from the criminal record and suspicion registers before employment.
