We are currently looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant who wants to contribute to our health-promoting workplace and be an important part of our diverse team. Here you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues and develop within your profession, while making a real difference for our patients. Welcome!

Your Workplace

The Specialist Rehabilitation unit at Karlstad Central Hospital is a department within the Health and Rehabilitation business area. Approximately 80 employees work within the unit in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and music and art therapy. The Specialist Rehabilitation unit operates within several business areas and specialties at the Central Hospital, such as neurology, geriatrics, surgery, medicine, orthopedics, infectious diseases, and more, covering both outpatient and inpatient care. We actively work to be a health-promoting workplace where we all contribute to a good working environment.

Your Responsibilities

We are now looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant for a fixed-term position with a possible extension.

As a Rehabilitation Assistant in our operations, you will work very closely with our occupational therapists and physiotherapists in patient care, including within neurology. With guidance from licensed staff and based on your competencies, you will work both together with the rest of the team and independently on rehabilitation measures. This offers excellent opportunities for learning and development.

You will primarily see patients within inpatient care, but home visits as part of our mobile stroke team may also be relevant. Within our outpatient activities, participation in group activities may also be relevant.

In addition to patient care, the role includes administrative tasks and service duties. This includes responsibility for orders, management of assistive devices, and room/local responsibility. There are currently four Rehabilitation Assistants within the unit who work closely together.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who are educated as a Nurse Assistant (undersköterska) or have an education deemed equivalent. Experience in rehabilitation is desirable but not required. You have a genuine interest in rehabilitation and a desire to learn more about the field. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The role of Rehabilitation Assistant places high demands on collaboration with the rest of the team, while you also have tasks that you are responsible for and plan independently. A sense of good service and flexibility are important. Since the role may involve travel, you must have a valid B-driver's license.

Selection is conducted on an ongoing basis, so do not wait to apply for the position.
