The project "Det va på tiden!" (It's about time!) targets seniors (65+), young people in the care and nursing program, and professionals who work with seniors. The project runs for 3 years and is conducted by RFSU Malmö with funding from the Swedish State Heritage Fund (Allmänna Arvsfonden).

The purpose is to strengthen sexual health and sexual rights among seniors and to increase knowledge about SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) among healthcare staff. The sexuality of seniors is often rendered invisible and met with prejudice, despite many describing their sexuality as important. Care providers need greater knowledge about SRHR to improve sexual health, especially for seniors. The project aims to provide seniors with arenas to break social isolation and gain knowledge about sexual health, to base competence-building measures for healthcare staff on seniors' experiences, and to use seniors' knowledge to increase SRHR engagement among young people. The goal is also to develop methodological material adapted to the target group's needs. The project is based on experiential learning, problem-based learning, and intergenerational learning.

RFSU Malmö conducts workshops for seniors and/or nursing students based on the methodological material with films, images, and discussion exercises developed within the project. Collaborations are made with upper secondary schools with care and nursing programs, municipal and non-profit meeting places for seniors, study associations, and elderly care. Seniors are trained as circle leaders for continued knowledge dissemination, and free methodological material becomes a permanent resource. The project builds bridges between generations and creates long-term change within care and nursing. The methodological material will be used after the project by, among others, local branches within RFSU, activities targeting seniors, schools, within our collaboration organizations, and by other stakeholders.
