RESPONSIBILITIES

Nystart Östhammar is a pre-rehabilitation initiative in Gimo, Östhammar Municipality. The municipality runs the project in close collaboration with the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), the Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan), and Region Uppsala, with funding from the Coordination Association of Uppsala County. The project period runs until December 31, 2028.

The target group consists of working-age individuals who are far from the labor market but can reach it with the right support. The purpose of the project is to strengthen participants' prerequisites and increase their motivation to take the next step towards self-sufficiency through individual and group-based activities.

As a coach, you will become a central part of this work – you will motivate, guide, and support participants on their path to work or education. Together with the project manager/coordinator and your coaching colleague, you will create a safe, inspiring, and solution-focused environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Coaching conversations and motivational work – both individually and in groups,
• Planning and follow-up with the participant and their current network,
• Establish and maintain good relationships for collaboration with authorities, healthcare, associations, and other actors,
• Contribute to a good collaboration climate and the development of working methods within the project.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• A university degree in behavioral science or another education assessed as equivalent,
• At least three years of relevant work experience,
• Knowledge of mental illness and neuropsychiatric disabilities,
• A B driver's license and the ability to drive a car for work purposes when needed,
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing,
• Ability to build trust and adapt support to each individual's needs.

Experience in leading groups is desirable. Speaking multiple languages is an advantage.

We are looking for you who want to be one of two coaches working together with a project manager and coordinator to motivate and support participants on their path forward. You need to be able to put yourself in the participants' situation and be sensitive and open to anything that can help the participant move closer to studies or work. It is important that you have an open mind and great patience. To thrive in the job, you must be willing to be open and reflect together with your colleagues. A small work group places high demands on lack of hierarchy and openness. It is important that you can adapt to the participants' interests and prerequisites. You believe in the participants' own abilities and are non-judgmental regardless of the situation. You are calm, clear, and pedagogical, conveying clear expectations but also an individualized demand profile. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position.
