Our Operations

Region Uppsala is seeking a Research Coordinator for the Innovation Unit, which is part of the Planning and Development Division at the Management Office. The position is full-time (100%) and reports directly to the Director of Research and Innovation. As a Research Coordinator, you will play a central role in coordinating, developing, and ensuring the quality of Region Uppsala's work regarding research administration, research follow-up, and research-related processes. The role involves numerous contact points and requires the ability to work independently, structured, and with a good understanding of both the conditions of research and public organizations.

Your Assignment

In this role, you are responsible for coordinating and supporting central processes within Region Uppsala's research and innovation area. This includes, among other things, research support, research funding, research prizes, research accounts, statistics, follow-up, and collaboration between the region's various administrations.

You will work closely with the Director of Research and Innovation and play a key role in creating structure, continuity, and momentum in the work. The assignment covers both ongoing administration and more qualified handling, analysis, and coordination.

As a Research Coordinator, you will, among other things:

  • Coordinate and develop administrative processes within research and innovation.
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation, and follow-up of research-related annual calendars and processes.
  • Produce and ensure the quality of materials for decisions, follow-up, and reporting.
  • Coordinate work with research accounts, statistics, and analysis.
  • Support the follow-up of research funding, research projects, and research-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate collaboration between administrations, operations, researchers, managers, and external parties.
  • Contribute to a consolidated overview of research initiatives within Region Uppsala.
  • Help develop routines, working methods, and common structures within research administration.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant academic education in fields such as social sciences, economics, political science, medicine, nursing science, public health, administration, or other areas deemed relevant by the employer.
  • Experience in qualified handling, administration, coordination, process management, or investigative work.
  • Good ability to structure complex information and drive processes involving many stakeholders.
  • Experience in producing reports, decision support documents, statistics, or follow-ups.
  • Good understanding of public administration, documentation, and decision-making processes.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
  • Good digital administrative skills.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Research administration or R&D-related work.
  • Healthcare, universities, the public sector, or other large knowledge organizations.
  • Work with research funding, calls for proposals, follow-up, or operational reporting.
  • Collaboration between different operations, professions, and organizational levels.
  • Statistics, analysis, annual reporting, or operational follow-up.
  • Development of administrative processes, routines, and working methods.

Your Competencies

To succeed in the role, you need to be structured, meticulous, and self-initiating. You have good judgment, high integrity, and the ability to handle processes where both details and the big picture are important.

You thrive in a role with many contact points and can communicate clearly with researchers, managers, administrators, auditors, and external partners. You have an easy time creating overviews, prioritizing, and driving work forward even when several parallel processes are ongoing simultaneously.

We particularly value that you are analytical, responsible, solution-oriented, and have an interest in the significance of research for the development of healthcare.
