Your role

Being an economist with us is a varied and exciting assignment! As an economist for the Education Sector, you work in a consultative and supportive capacity regarding financial matters, including budgeting, follow-ups, forecasts, final accounts, and internal control. This involves close contact with managers and close collaboration with the sector's management group. The position also includes serving as a presenter in the Education Board.

You will develop professionally through the issues you encounter in your work and will be given the opportunity to influence working methods and tools. Together with other employees, you will contribute to achieving the goals of the financial unit, including through environmental scanning and the development of common working methods.

Your knowledge and experience

We are looking for you who have a university degree in economics or another education that we consider equivalent. You communicate easily, both orally and in writing, and can explain economics in a pedagogical way even to those who are not economists.

Experience from municipal operations or other public administration is considered an advantage.

As a person, you are service-oriented, easy to collaborate with, diligent, and accustomed to taking responsibility for your tasks. You have good strategic and analytical skills that contribute to the development of the operations. You see the challenge in a varied and sometimes fast-paced work situation with high goals. During recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Interviews are tentatively planned to take place during week 33, but may be conducted earlier and even before the application deadline.

The central financial unit consists of 12 employees and is organized under the Municipal Executive Board. Our centralized financial function offers close collaboration across organizational boundaries, strengthening and developing work processes for the municipality's financial management and promoting community and job satisfaction.
