The Swedish ESF Council is a government agency with an important mission – to drive development and innovation for a more inclusive labour market. We are approximately 130 dedicated employees across eight offices nationwide, with our headquarters in Gävle.
Here, you will have the opportunity to work in a smaller organization and a chance to actively contribute to creating a more inclusive and sustainable society. Our mission is to support and finance projects that strengthen people's position on the labour market, promote social integration, counteract exclusion, and contribute to positive societal development.
We are now looking for a Project Controller on a fixed-term contract for our office in Gothenburg.
What do we offer you?
- Meaningful work: Here, you will be part of making a difference in an important government mandate – contributing to an inclusive and sustainable labour market for all.
- Development and learning: We offer good opportunities for you to grow and develop within your specialist field and take the next step in your career.
- Health and balance: We value good health and work-life balance and offer, among other things, workplace wellness programs and a wellness allowance of up to 5,000 SEK per year.
- Benefits: Good holiday and pension terms, as well as extended parental leave benefits.
- Culture: We have a work environment characterized by openness, collaboration, and respect, where we all help each other to grow and contribute to our common goals.
The Regional Office & Responsibilities
The regional offices are responsible for and coordinate regional calls for proposals and report results from funded projects. The work also involves developing and maintaining relationships with actors within the region. This can include, for example, regional development officers, the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, labour market partners, and actors within the non-profit sector.
You will work with economic project auditing in both project processing and prior to the disbursement of grants. You will have contact with project owners, conduct site visits, and perform audits and controls at their premises. Part of the work involves informing about the requirements for applications, reporting, and verification based on current regulations.
You will also work on developing risk analyses and assessing costs in relation to budgets and decisions. Tasks related to result follow-up, processing new applications, and information/advisory services related to the program are also included. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the coordinators in the unit.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree from a university or college in economics or another education that the employer deems relevant
- Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing
The following are meritorious:
- Experience working with EU funds and programs
- Experience in making assessments and analyses based on regulations
To succeed in the role, you need to be both collaborative and self-initiative. It is natural for you to find solutions with a non-hierarchical focus on common goals. You can immerse yourself in and solve varying tasks in complex contexts. You have strong drive and the ability to take responsibility.
An inclusive workplace
