About the Role
In the role of Consumer Advisor, you will provide advice and guidance on consumer issues to the municipality's residents. You will handle questions related to purchases, contracts, and consumer rights. You will inform about applicable laws and give advice on complaints and disputes. Contact is made via phone, email, and pre-booked visits.
The role also involves preventive work through contact with various groups of consumers. You will plan and conduct lectures and training sessions for schools, associations, and companies on consumer law and personal finance.
The assignment may also involve scanning the external environment, establishing contacts internally within the municipality and externally, to propose future organizational structures for consumer advisory services.
Examples of duties:
- Advice and guidance to citizens on consumer issues
- Preventive work regarding issues such as fraud and indebtedness
- Regional and national network work
About the Workplace
The Consumer Advisory Service is part of the library operations in Örebro Municipality and falls under the library and arts school operational area within the Culture and Leisure Administration. Your main workplace will be in the Cultural Quarter, where both the City Library and the Arts School are located, while the Art Hall and Concert Hall are situated directly adjacent. Approximately 100 people work in the Cultural Quarter, and the Consumer Advisory Service is organized directly under the Business Manager for Libraries and Arts Schools.

Qualifications
To succeed in the role of Consumer Advisor, we see that you are service-oriented and have a professional, secure, and warm demeanor in all interactions. Your strong empathetic ability allows you to meet people with understanding, sensitivity, and respect. Communication is a central part of the assignment, so you need to be a clear and confident communicator who can adapt your language to the recipient and context.

Requirements:
- University education with content in law, economics, political science, or social sciences, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position
Merits:

- Experience from work involving customer service and handling
- Experience in preventive social work
