Kemikum, with more than 200 employees, is one of the largest institutions at Stockholm University. Project Description

The purpose of the project is to characterize toxic and structurally new chemicals using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) data for non-targeted analysis with liquid and gas chromatography. This includes investigating fragmentation spectra, retention times, collision cross-sections (CCS), and ionization efficiency, as well as selecting chemicals for measurements.

Responsibilities

The work involves selecting and ordering chemicals, preparing GC/HRMS and LC/HRMS methods, performing measurements, analyzing data, and feeding data into various databases. We would like the candidate to be proactive and have good problem-solving skills, with the ambition to conduct interdisciplinary research combining mass spectrometry and data science. Candidates with experience in handling mass spectrometry data are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Qualifications

A researcher is primarily employed for research and must have completed a PhD or hold a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD.

Selection Criteria

Special emphasis will be placed on scientific competence during the selection process.

Selection among candidates who meet the requirements is based on: the ability to perform HRMS analyses and data processing, written and verbal proficiency in English, analytical thinking, teamwork skills, as well as creativity, initiative, and independence.

About the Position

The position is full-time and fixed-term for a maximum of 12 months. Start date: 2026-09-01 or as agreed.
