The Swedish Museum of Natural History is Sweden's largest museum and a leading research institution where curiosity meets science. The Unit for Population Analysis and Monitoring carries out assignments for several authorities and organizations. The unit consists of several working groups that perform monitoring of marine and terrestrial mammals and conduct a large number of genetic analyses. The unit conducts research and monitoring of harbor porpoises and seals on behalf of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, and monitoring of bears, golden eagles, and arctic foxes on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The genetic analyses are performed by the Center for Genetic Identification (CGI) for a number of different actors within nature and environmental conservation and cover a wide range of questions.
We are looking for you who have experience from laboratory work involving modern genetic methods for the position of Laboratory Assistant (First Assistant).

The position primarily involves laboratory work in the molecular lab and analysis of genetic data. Tasks include handling and registering biological samples, qPCR, preparation of sequencing libraries, and analysis. The work may also involve organizing materials and creating order among samples, files, and information in databases.
The work will be performed independently and in collaboration with existing staff in the unit. Other work within the department may occur.
