Job Description

This project aims to develop smart bio-based adsorbents, membranes, and filters for water purification. The role involves synthesizing, characterizing, and developing bio-based adsorbents, membranes, and filters for water treatment, with a focus on polymers for the capture of PFAS, pharmaceutical residues, metals, and other emerging contaminants.

The position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of research in materials science and environmental technology within a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment. Responsibilities include laboratory and analytical work, planning, developing, executing, and evaluating syntheses and materials, characterizing material properties, data analysis, as well as written and oral presentations.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A completed PhD degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD.
• Competence in polymer chemistry, polymer science, polymer technology, or equivalent.
• Scientific proficiency.
• Ability to promote the practical application of research results.
• Ability to communicate research and development work.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, as it is required in daily work.
• Knowledge of diversity and equal treatment issues, with a specific focus on gender equality.
• Teamwork skills.
• Independence.

Merits

• Previous experience with functionalization of polymers and adsorbents for water purification is highly meritorious.

About the Position
