About the Company

At Avaron, you get the security of a permanent employment combined with the variety of working on-site with different clients. We recruit specialists in everything from technology, IT, and industry to project management and business support – and regardless of the assignment, you have a consultant manager who is there for you and your development.

About the Role

Do you want to combine species knowledge, fieldwork, and analysis in an assignment with clear societal benefit? In this role, you will help a municipal operation create a current and municipality-wide overview of the occurrence and spread of invasive alien plants on strategically selected municipal land.

You handle the entire chain from selecting inventory areas to field inventory, analysis, prioritization, and recommendations for control. The assignment is based on increased requirements for mapping and managing invasive species, where a well-prepared basis is needed to prioritize the right measures. You work closely with the client and contribute with both biological competence and a structured approach. This is an interesting opportunity for you who want to translate your expertise into concrete nature conservation decisions.

Responsibilities
  • You develop a strategic selection of inventory areas in dialogue with the client, focusing on areas where the benefit of the inventory is assessed to be greatest.
  • You conduct field inventories of invasive plants on selected sites.
  • You register findings with species, geographic position, estimated spread, and assessment of spread risk.
  • You work with species covered by the EU list, the national list of invasive species, and other species relevant to Sweden when justified.
  • You analyze the results and produce a municipality-wide basis for prioritizing control based on factors such as invasiveness, spread risk, impact on nature values, and practical feasibility.
  • You propose overarching control methods per prioritized species and make a rough cost assessment, including uncertainties in the assessments.
  • You compile results, maps, and raw data and contribute to a clear final report with inventory methodology, selection justification, and recommended measures.
  • You drive ongoing check-ins with the client and ensure that the delivery maintains high quality.
Requirements
  • Good species knowledge and experience in inventorying plant species relevant to the assignment.
  • A university degree in a relevant field, or equivalent acquired experience.
  • Documented experience of at least 3 years of work with similar species inventories.
  • Ability to work independently with both field inventory, analysis, and written reporting.
  • Experience in producing materials that include species lists, occurrence data, distribution, map material, and prioritization proposals.
  • Ability to deliver raw data in GIS and Excel formats.
We Offer
  • Permanent employment at Avaron AB
  • Pension plan
  • Wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK per year
