We are now looking for a Product Compliance Lead who wants to drive and develop Synsam's work within product compliance and guide the organization on how requirements are implemented in practice. This is a key role where you act as PRRC for our own brands and ensure they meet all relevant regulatory requirements. The role also includes advisory and support within compliance for our other assortment.
About the role
The role combines strategic responsibility with an operational approach. You work closely with product development, category, purchasing, production, and suppliers to ensure that requirements are implemented in practice, from design and material selection to testing and finally a finished product. The role as a whole is also new at Synsam, which gives you the opportunity to continue shaping working methods and structure over time.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure global compliance with product-related regulations and standards for Synsam's brands (e.g., MDR, PPE, ISO)
- Ensure correct product classification, technical documentation, CE marking, and market-specific other documentation
- Responsible for Synsam following product-related laws and regulations such as chemical compliance and material requirements globally (REACH, SVHC, etc.)
- Coordinate and quality-assure testing via accredited laboratories
- Support product development in matters concerning product compliance from design to launch
- Continuously monitor and implement changes in global legislation and standards
- Responsible for budget and cost tracking related to compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and chemical controls
Who are you?
You have good knowledge of product compliance, with the ability to independently drive and develop the area in a business. You have a strong understanding of how regulatory requirements are translated into effective and functional working methods throughout the value chain, while also having a strong operational drive and being used to working hands-on with the details yourself. You are confident in your competence and used to taking ownership of complex issues, making decisions, and setting structure where it is lacking. As a person, we would like you to have a pragmatic and business-oriented approach and contribute with energy that moves the work forward.
We are looking for someone who
- Meets the requirements to be a PRRC (Person Responsible for Regulatory Compliance) according to EU MDR, which means you have:
- Degree certificate, certificate, or other qualification certificate after completing higher education in law, medicine, pharmacy, engineering science, or any other relevant scientific discipline. You also need to have at least one year of professional experience in regulatory affairs or quality management systems in the field of medical devices (extra merit within eyewear frames/consumer articles)
- Alternatively, four years of professional experience in regulatory affairs or quality management systems in the field of medical devices.
- Experience in independently managing product compliance within manufacturing industry or consumer products
- Documented experience in building up, structuring, or developing processes within compliance
- Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English
We would also like you to have
- Experience with chemical and material compliance (e.g., REACH, SVHC, metals, restrictions)
- Experience in driving testing and verification, including work with external laboratories
It is also an advantage if you have experience working with suppliers in Asia as well as ISO standards and quality management systems.
About the position
The position is a permanent employment with an initial probation period of six months and start by agreement. You report to the Chief Sustainability Officer, Yordabelle Nordström. You are based at the headquarters on Kungsholmen, Stockholm with frequent travel to our Innovation Center on Frösön (Östersund).
