Engaged Substitute within Area Protection (Coastal Protection and Nature Reserves)
Do you want to contribute to protecting and developing valuable natural environments in one of Sweden's most attractive municipalities? Are you ready to take on a role where law, nature, and societal development meet? Join our team within area protection in Nacka.
Nacka Municipality has high goals for a healthy and sustainable environment – for both today's residents and future generations. To meet these goals, we need staffing that matches the supervision needs. We are now looking for a temporary Environmental and Health Protection Inspector to ensure continued high quality in our supervision during a period of temporary absence in the group.
The Environmental Supervision Unit works to provide expertise, inform businesses and residents, and ensure compliance with legislation through supervision. The unit is divided into two groups, each with its own group manager: The Environmental Code Group and the Food, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Fireworks Group.
Your Assignment
As an Environmental and Health Protection Inspector, you will work in the Environmental Code Group, which currently consists of 14 inspectors. The group handles official duties regarding environmental protection, area protection, and other parts of the Environmental Code.
In this temporary position, the focus is on area protection, which primarily covers coastal protection and nature reserves.
The work involves close collaboration with colleagues and frequent contact with municipal residents, business owners, and politicians.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Processing cases within coastal protection, such as exemptions and supervision
- Supervision within the municipality's nature reserves
- Evaluations and decisions according to the Environmental Code
- Advising and guiding citizens and businesses
- Collaboration with colleagues and other actors within the municipality
The work involves a variation between case processing and field supervision.
You will also be given the opportunity to contribute to the development of the municipality's work with area protection, for example by developing methods, routines, and materials related to coastal protection and nature reserves.
Is this you?
Do you have experience with supervision according to the Environmental Code, are you responsible, and do you believe good service is important? Then we may be looking for you.
The inspector role involves both independent work and collaboration in a group. Therefore, it is important that you have good teamwork skills, personal drive, and can take responsibility for your cases.
We also look for someone who:
- Is confident in the official role
- Is good at connecting with people and has the ability to understand different perspectives
- Expresses yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
Experience working with municipal supervision is meritorious, especially within coastal protection and nature reserves.
Your Experience
We are looking for you who want to contribute to our work in preserving valuable natural environments while delivering service to both municipal residents and the municipality's organization.
- You have education in environmental and health protection, biology, or a corresponding natural science education
- You have knowledge of the Environmental Code
- You preferably have experience with Environmental Code supervision
- You have good computer skills
- A B-driver's license is required
What We Offer
In Nacka, you have the opportunity to work in a municipality that wants to be the best in Sweden at being a municipality, with openness and diversity as its vision and a fundamental value of trusting people's knowledge, will, and ability.
With us, you will:
- Work with engaged and competent colleagues
- Have meaningful work within nature and environmental protection
- Have the opportunity to develop within area protection
- Have a role where you work operationally and get the opportunity to contribute to the development of the business
