Södra Roslagens miljö- och hälsoskyddskontor (SRMH) is a joint environmental office for several municipalities, administratively located within the Municipal Executive Office in Täby Municipality. It is primarily affiliated with the Södra Roslagen Environmental and Health Protection Board, which is shared by Täby and Vaxholm. The Board collaborates with Norrtälje, Lidingö, Danderyd, and Vallentuna, handling reviews and supervision under laws including the Environmental Code, Food Act, Alcohol Act, and the Act on Tobacco and Similar Products.

We are now looking for a motivated Food Inspector to join our Food Group. This is a fixed-term position for six months (special fixed-term employment), with the possibility of extension subject to necessary political decisions.

Here you will have the opportunity to be part of a team of approximately 30 people, where we work together to ensure high quality and legal certainty in our work. The Food Group is responsible for supervision according to food legislation in Täby, Vaxholm, Vallentuna, and Norrtälje. In Täby and Vaxholm, the group works on behalf of the Södra Roslagen Environmental and Health Protection Board. In Norrtälje and Vallentuna, the group performs food control according to a cooperation agreement. The Food Group has control responsibility for nearly 2,000 food establishments and consists of a group leader and 8 inspectors with different areas of responsibility.

About the Job

As a Food Inspector with us, you will carry out supervision according to food legislation. The role includes independently drafting correspondence and making decisions under delegation.

Your role requires precision and integrity, as well as a good ethical approach. You must be able to take initiative and independently drive cases forward while having the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, business owners, and other authorities.

Who are you?

To succeed in the role of Food Inspector, we want you to have:

• Education in food safety, food control, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Category B driver's license.

The following are also considered meritorious:

• Experience in processing cases within the food area, preferably regarding food labeling.
• Experience with the case management system Ecos.
• Experience from working in a politically governed organization.

You are structured, analytical, and meticulous in your work. You have inner drive and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple cases simultaneously without compromising on quality. Additionally, you are a good communicator, both verbally and in writing, and you find it easy to collaborate in a group. We will place great emphasis on your personal suitability.

Other Information

The position is a special fixed-term employment for 6 months and on a full-time basis. Start date by agreement.
