Project Description
Deniz M. Özata Karlsson's laboratory is seeking an ambitious, talented, and creative researcher with strong expertise in computational biology and male reproductive cell biology. The studies in the Özata lab aim to understand how male reproductive cells develop into sperm at the molecular and cellular levels. Specifically, the Özata laboratory investigates the evolutionary function of pachytene piRNAs and the regulatory mechanisms that control gene expression during sperm development.
Responsibilities
- Analysis of sequencing data, particularly single-cell multiomics, ATAC-seq, CUT&RUN, PRO-seq, and RNA-seq.
- Laboratory work, specifically the preparation of sequencing libraries.
- Experiments on mice.
Qualifications
A researcher is primarily employed for research and should have completed a doctoral degree or hold a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree.
Selection Criteria
Special emphasis will be placed on scientific skill during the selection process. We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Strong expertise in the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data, particularly in single-cell multiomics, ATAC-seq, CUT&RUN, PRO-seq, and RNA-seq.
- In-depth understanding of male reproductive cell development.
- Good skills in laboratory work (wet lab), particularly in high-throughput library preparation.
- Good experience working with mouse models.
