We are looking for a Coordinating Environmental Specialist for the production phase of the Ostlänken project for Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration).

This is a consulting assignment. The workplace is located in Gerstaberg.

The position is 50-75% of a full-time role.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

We are seeking a coordinating environmental specialist with broad environmental competence for a comprehensive infrastructure project in the production phase. The role involves coordinating, planning, driving, and following up on environmental work in close collaboration with project management, contractors, and specialists, with a particular focus on soil environment, mass handling, and water issues.

Responsibilities

• Act as an expert in the environmental field and ensure that the project complies with management systems, environmental legislation, and internal requirements.
• Guide the project organization in working methods, routines, instructions, method descriptions, templates, and tools.
• Provide support, advice, and instructions on environmental-related issues and contribute to problem-solving within the field of knowledge.
• Ensure the contractor's compliance with contractual requirements and the project's compliance with environmental permits and authority decisions.
• Work with control programs for water activities and self-control, and handle issues related to water, soil environment, and mass handling.
• Collaborate with construction managers (KMA) and participate in environmental rounds, project meetings, and meetings with contractors.
• Prepare and drive permit, notification, and dispensation cases, and support project management in contacts with authorities and external dialogues.
• Review documents and documentation, support procurement and ÄTA (Additional Work) handling, and participate in the review of as-built documents and management data prior to handover.

Requirements (OBS, mandatory)

• Education: University or college education, minimum 180 credits, in the environmental field or equivalent as assessed by us.
• Experience: At least 3 years of current professional experience as an environmental specialist or equivalent. You must have performed two (2) or more assignments in this role. The assignments must have included work in projects involving coordination and follow-up of environmental issues. The projects must have been societal construction projects in the production phase. In at least one (1) of the assignments, water issues (such as lock holding water, stormwater, and purification technology) and soil environment/mass handling must have been handled. Participation in the assignments must not be older than 10 years.
• You must have broad general competence in Swedish environmental legislation (the Environmental Code and related environmental legislation) and experience working with environmental permits, notification cases, and dispensations.
• You must have a structured and analytical approach to work, be receptive, have good teamwork skills, and possess strong communication skills.
• Valid driver's license for passenger cars in Sweden.
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits

• You have experience in assignments as an Environmental Specialist (Resource Consultant/Project Consultant) in the production phase in projects whose main purpose is to build state or municipal road and/or railway facilities.
• You have experience in following up water activities (compliance with permit decisions and control program issues).
