Are you a biomedical analyst with experience in diagnostics within clinical physiology, and perhaps even an interest in research or method development? Do you want to work with advanced diagnostics in cardiovascular ultrasound, cardiac MRI, and lung function investigations alongside some of the leading experts in the field at one of the world's top ten best hospitals? Then this might be the role for you.
What we offer
- Opportunities for those with a strong research interest to participate in research projects to a greater or lesser extent within our active research unit, which conducts numerous extensive studies including cardiovascular MRI, cardiovascular ultrasound, and work and lung physiology.
- Work within patient flows that are unique to Karolinska University Hospital in the region, for example, using MRI and ultrasound diagnostics to examine patients with congenital heart defects, patients who are undergoing or have undergone thoracic surgery, and patients who have received a heart pump while waiting for a heart transplant.
- Would you like to specialize further in vascular diagnostics? There are opportunities for this as well, as our vascular surgeon is based here, performing procedures such as bypass graft, (T)EVAR, and dialysis fistula controls, as well as renal artery examinations among many other vascular methods.

About the position
ME Clinical Physiology is located in both Solna and Huddinge and is an accredited activity by SWEDAC according to standard SS-EN ISO 15189:2022. It is one of the largest units for Clinical Physiology in the country with approximately 90 colleagues. Those working in the unit include physicians specializing in Clinical Physiology, biomedical analysts specializing in Clinical Physiology, MRI physicists, IT engineers, and nursing assistants with an administrative focus. We also have a good and close collaboration with the care administration within the theme.
The positions advertised here are primarily based in Solna, and since our operations are located in both Huddinge and Solna, there may be opportunities for internal rotation.
We conduct advanced and highly specialized acute and outpatient cardiovascular diagnostics, comprising approximately 40,000 examinations per year. Our methods include among others:
- Cardiovascular ultrasound examinations
- ECG/Exercise tests/Holter examinations
- Lung function investigations
- Myocardial scintigraphy examinations
- Cardiac/vascular MRI examinations
- Cardiac catheterizations and cardiac biopsies.
You will work with the aforementioned methods to an extent that reflects the unit's needs and your own wishes and ambitions in a developing work environment with opportunities for advancement and greater responsibility. We have implemented the region-wide competence ladder for BMAs within Clinical Physiology, within which you are placed based on your competence, further education, and assignments. - Licensed biomedical analyst with a focus on clinical physiology
Merits:
- Experience in cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound
- Previous responsibility within sections, quality, or methods
- Experience in research.
