Inpatient care consists of several inpatient wards with different focuses, where teamwork, reflection, and systematic improvement work are natural parts of everyday life. We are now looking for a specialist physician with the role of Medical Manager (MLA) for the general psychiatric inpatient ward M67. Ward M67 currently has 17 beds. We admit adult patients with mental illness, and a central part of our work is that we operate from a person-centered approach.

Role as Medical Manager and Senior Physician at M67

As the Medical Manager (MLA), you are part of the ward's leadership and work strategically and operationally in close collaboration with the Unit Manager, where you lead the medical development work in accordance with current evidence. Your primary focus is to drive and develop our patient safety and quality culture. Through networking and collaboration, you stay constantly updated to ensure safe and modern care.

The acute psychiatric section consists of five inpatient wards, a psychiatric emergency department, and the Brain Stimulation Unit. Currently, we are a fantastic team of ward managers and medical managers, where collaboration and a sense of 'we' form the foundation.

As MLA, you have overall responsibility for introducing, leading, and supervising resident doctors placed at the ward.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in psychiatry and are interested in psychiatric inpatient care. It is meritorious if you have experience of supervision and on-call work within psychiatric care.

You enjoy working in teams, have good collaboration skills, are flexible, and like supervising younger colleagues. You appreciate variety in work and an acute psychiatric pace. You take responsibility in your work, contribute to an open and inclusive climate, while having good communication skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment

Permanent employment. You are employed in your primary position as a specialist physician with the appointment as Medical Manager.

In patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council healthcare area:

- Register control is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register control upon employment.

- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.

- In addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
