About the position

Nuclear Medicine and Hospital Physics is a medical unit within Medical Diagnostics at Karolinska University Hospital. We run the nuclear medicine operations and provide hospital physics and technical support. In terms of radiation safety, we work across the hospital. Nuclear Medicine is located at the hospital's two sites; Huddinge and Solna. This position is based at Huddinge.

As a hospital physicist with us in nuclear medicine, you work clinically, both independently and in a team. The work includes optimization and improvement of equipment, methods, and radiation safety. You work in close collaboration with doctors, radiographers, and biomedical analysts.

We have a significant commitment to various educational programs, including the hospital physicist program. We run several internal and external research and development projects. Depending on your competence and interest, you may become involved in both educational initiatives and research projects.

This is a full-time fixed-term position for 12 months, with a possible extension.

The position is located in Huddinge, where diagnostics are performed using two SPECT/CT and two PET/CT scanners. We have a small but growing radionuclide therapy activity. The operations in Huddinge are accredited by SWEDAC.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed hospital physicist.

Merits:

  • Experience in clinical nuclear medicine (both SPECT/CT and PET/CT) including optimization work.
  • Experience in radiation safety work within nuclear medicine.
  • Experience in working with quality and operational improvements.
