We are looking for an Archaeobotanist for a permanent position at our office in Bromma, Stockholm.
Archaeobotanical analyses are now a standard part of most archaeological investigations. By combining analyses of macro- and microfossils with other collected archaeological data, we can gain a broader understanding of what preserved material remains represent. This is done from cultural-historical, economic, ecological, and other perspectives.
Working as an archaeobotanist at Uppdrag arkeologi involves close collaboration with colleagues in various archaeological projects, as well as broader work on knowledge and method development within your area of expertise. Your role is thus an integrated part of the company's ongoing archaeological knowledge development. We work on projects covering all archaeological periods, from the earliest Stone Age to historical times, and undertake assignments throughout Sweden.
You have relevant education and preferably practical experience working within Swedish contract archaeology. As a person, you are meticulous, responsible, and have good communication skills in both speech and writing. The role involves producing both scientific and popular science texts, reports, and articles, as well as participating in conferences and seminars.
The workplace is our office in Bromma, but travel is a natural part of the job. We therefore prefer that the applicant has a driver's license.
As an employee at Uppdrag arkeologi, you are offered opportunities for professional development, for example by participating in national and international subject-related conferences. We also offer a wellness allowance and time for wellness activities during paid working hours. Our employer organization is called Sobona, and we adhere to the collective agreement BÖK25.
Scope: Permanent position (full-time/39.5 hours/week). We apply a six-month probation period.
Start date: According to agreement.
Workplace: Bromma, Stockholm. Shorter periods of work outside the workplace occur.
For questions regarding the position, contact Richard Grönwall, CEO (tel 073 662 34 00, [email protected]) or Lars Andersson, Operations Manager (tel 073 662 34 01, [email protected]).
Send your application to [email protected]. Mark your application with "ARKBOT". The last day for applications is 2026-09-30. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the stated deadline. Please attach a CV and cover letter to your application. We decline applications from agencies selling advertising and recruitment services.
We look forward to receiving your application!
