FMLOG is seeking two Environmental Coordinators for the staff in Stockholm. One position is for the Logistics Section and one for the Infrastructure Section.

About the Staff:

The FMLOG Staff provides support to the Chief of FMLOG in the leadership and management of the unit, Swedish Defence Logistics (FMLOG).

As an Environmental Coordinator, you belong to the Support Department at the FMLOG Staff. The department consists of six sections: Security/Intelligence, Logistics, Materiel, Design Management, Management Systems, and Infrastructure. These sections are responsible for leading and monitoring the unit's technical services, materiel and supply issues, management system issues, infrastructure, operational safety, as well as environmental and quality matters. Both military and civilian personnel work within the department. The role of Environmental Coordinator is located on the Logistics Section and the Infrastructure Section.

On the Logistics Section, we have gathered logistics handlers, coordinators for traffic safety, electrical and fire safety, as well as quality and environment. On the section, one works independently and is directly responsible to the Chief of FMLOG in substantive matters and decisions. As a coordinator, you lead training and work preventively. Drafting and implementing governing documents are also important tasks for the section within their respective areas of responsibility. The section is also to support risk management for major military operations, e.g., prior to exercises.

On the Infrastructure Section, we are responsible for new construction, procurement, and maintenance of properties for FMLOG. We work across Sweden, and as the Infrastructure Environmental Coordinator, you conduct environmental investigations during new construction and procurement. Drafting and implementing governing documents are also important tasks for the section. We provide support with training and expertise. We also coordinate national interests for FMLOG.

Main Responsibilities:

As an Environmental Coordinator at the staff, you are responsible for supporting the Chief of FMLOG in directing, implementing, and monitoring environmental work within FMLOG in a systematic and functional manner. You will also become an important advisor to managers and operations, both in daily operations and during major exercises. You create the prerequisites for FMLOG's work to be conducted according to current regulations in the environmental field. The work involves, among other things, developing the environmental management system and producing governing documents to support risk analyses and environmental investigations.

You will, among other things:

• Support managers and operations with expertise in the environmental field,
• Ensure that permits and conditions are followed and report to management,
• Renew the unit's environmental plan annually, and monitor agreements (e.g., waste) within the area,
• Plan and participate in audits and exercise planning,
• Develop FMLOG's environmental management system and self-control,
• Conduct internal environmental training for subordinate units,
• Participate in environmental networks within the Swedish Armed Forces.

Qualifications:

• University education in environmental and natural sciences, or other experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Documented relevant work experience from environmentally hazardous permit-required operations.
• Knowledge of, and experience in, the application of current and relevant legislation within the scope of the Environmental Code.
• You must be able to express yourself well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
• Good computer skills.
• Category B driver's license, manual transmission.
