About the Company

At Avaron, you get the security of a permanent employment combined with the variety of working on-site with different clients. We recruit specialists in everything from technology, IT, and industry to project management and business support – and regardless of the assignment, you have a consulting manager who is there for you and your development.

About the Role

You will take on a key role in a civil engineering assignment where a new 3D model of a watercourse is to be produced as a basis for climate-adapted urban planning. The focus is on investigating and presenting the possible extent of the stream, floodplains, and flood areas for design rainfall according to P110 as well as a 100-year rain event with a climate factor. The work should provide a clear decision-making basis for how future development can be planned without increasing the risk of flooding.

You will work in a complex, densely built-up environment where the model needs to be based on several data sources, including laser scanning, water and sewer systems, culverts, pipes, and water levels. The assignment combines technical depth, analysis, and clear communication, giving you the opportunity to contribute to concrete decisions in an urban environment that needs to be prepared for heavy rainfall and rising water levels.

Responsibilities
  • You will produce a 3D stream model that can be used as a basis for further planning and climate adaptation.
  • You analyze the possible extent of the watercourse and identify floodplains and flood areas.
  • You build the model based on relevant input data, such as laser scanning, water and sewer systems, culverts, pipes, and water levels.
  • You maintain an ongoing dialogue with the client and drive reviews regarding methodology, assumptions, and results.
  • You propose what input data is required to create the model and what complementary data would strengthen the analysis.
  • You deliver the results in GIS and MIKE+ and produce a short report describing the methodology, input data, and results.
  • You ensure that GIS data is delivered according to established geodata requirements, including georeferencing, metadata, and clear structure in files and layers.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in modeling watercourses in densely built-up urban environments.
  • Documented experience with similar assignments, such as developing models for watercourses in urban environments.
  • Relevant subject matter expertise in water modeling.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing.
  • Relevant academic education.
  • Ability to deliver results in GIS and MIKE+.
  • Experience with GIS and geodata deliveries, including work with georeferenced data, metadata, and formats such as Esri Geodatabase, Shape, and GeoTIFF.
  • Understanding of coordinate and height systems in geodata, including Sweref 99 18 00 and RH 2000.
Merits
  • Good local knowledge of the assignment area.
  • Experience working in complex, densely built-up urban environments with many dependencies in existing infrastructure.
We Offer
  • Permanent employment at Avaron AB
  • Pension benefits
  • Wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK per year
