The Legal Secretariat is responsible for drafting proposals for laws and regulations and provides legal advice to the departmental leadership and the divisions of the Ministry of Finance. The Secretariat's area of responsibility covers all divisions of the ministry, with the exception of the Tax and Customs Division and the Financial Markets Division.
This means that we provide legal support within a broad spectrum of issues, including the state budget, digitalization, procurement legislation, gambling regulation, consumer law, state employer policy, state-owned companies, municipal legislation, loans to other countries, and the state's ownership of real estate.
In this role, you will primarily work on issues concerning public access and confidentiality. Your tasks will include, among other things:
- Handling cases regarding the disclosure of public documents.
- Providing qualified legal advice to the ministry's units and political leadership on matters of public access and confidentiality.
- Participating in internal training within the field.
- Assisting other lawyers at the Legal Secretariat with legal advice and legal review when needed.

Your background
We are looking for you who have a Bachelor of Laws degree and professional experience from the Government Offices, another state agency, or a court. You have very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have completed probation as a clerk (notariatjänstgöring), have knowledge of and experience with public access and confidentiality legislation, or have experience from service at a district court. We would like you to thrive in an advisory role and be motivated by providing qualified legal support in complex matters.

The work involves many and frequent contacts both within and outside the ministry. Therefore, we particularly value good service orientation and teamwork skills.
To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be meticulous and structured in your approach to work. You are flexible and can handle varying tasks while having good judgment and the ability to make well-founded assessments. You enjoy working at a fast pace and can prioritize between different tasks without compromising the quality of your work.
Other information
The employment is a permanent position starting with a six-month probationary period. Before a decision on employment is made, a security clearance will be conducted.
